Mewli cloud-data deletion

Mewli is local-first. A fresh install can keep the normal cat journal entirely on-device. If you explicitly enable private cloud backup or use an account-dependent cloud feature, Mewli can create a Firebase cloud identity; linking Google can make that identity durable for restore and purchase ownership.

Deleting Mewli cloud data does not erase journal rows or original photos that exist only on your phone.

Delete from Mewli

The current app provides a cloud deletion flow from the Cloud backup card. After explicit confirmation, Mewli deletes the current Firebase Auth identity and Mewli-owned cloud data associated with that identity. Local journal data is intentionally preserved so you can continue using Mewli offline.

If you cannot use the in-app control

Email Mewli support with the subject “Mewli cloud data deletion request”. If a Google account is linked, sending the request from the same email address can help identify the cloud record, but Mewli may still need limited information to verify ownership before deleting data.

What cloud deletion removes

• Your Mewli Firebase cloud account/identity when applicable.
• Your optional private cloud backup records and backed-up cat images.
• Mewli public share publications and public shared images associated with the deleted cloud account.
• Server-side purchase-entitlement records and purchase-token ownership claims associated with that cloud identity.
• Companion Studio inputs, generated assets, jobs, slots and source-ownership claims associated with that cloud identity.
• Cloud metadata associated with those records, subject to required technical deletion processing.

What is not deleted by this web request

Mewli cannot remotely erase a journal stored only on a phone. Local photos and journal records remain on that device until you delete them there, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.

Google Play purchase/payment records are managed by Google and may be retained by Google or as required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal, or transaction-record obligations. Mewli does not receive your full payment-card details.

Verification and timing

We may ask for limited information needed to verify that the deletion request corresponds to the cloud account. We will process verified deletion requests as soon as reasonably practicable and in accordance with applicable requirements.
